What Challenge?

I created Jessilynn as I was going to start yet another challenge. This one to be exact: http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/51928.page

The problem was, it wasn't exactly what I was looking for. I searched and searched and still even while playing could not find what I wanted to do. I was going to start her like a regular legacy but where she had to make a living off of only living off the land. I liked that idea, but I had downloaded a couple new items like the Milkin' it Dairy corral and wanted to try it out. I have so many legacy style families going I was looking for a different twist. Then before I started playing I started messing around with building a barn, I was only going to build the barn and let her earn enough to build everything else. Once I started building though I didn't want to stop and I ended up building a whole farm.

That kind of killed the idea with starting with no cheats. So I finished up the house and then decided to reduce Jessi's funds down to $500. At this time I had decided I still wanted a challenge kind of play, but wasn't sure what to do. I searched some more for gardening challenges and farming challenges, again not finding anything I wanted to do. Then I remembered the in game challenges. I never ever even think about these. They get ignored like half the other things in my game and I thought why not! I did want her to eventually get married, have kids and continue on with the 'living off the land' to see how far we could get never having jobs. I then thought, I already have a challenge going sort of like that, where the guy was plopped down in Twinbrooks with no money and has to steal, borrow and dive to get anything he owns. I wasn't wanting to do this again with her, again why I started building her house. I did however want to go with the idea of never having a job, in any generation and always having to only make money through hard earned ways. Thinking was giving me a headache so I just started playing hoping it would come to me as I went.

So what challenge is this? As of right now, skill challenges! Like I said earlier, I have never played the skill challenges in the game and figured they would be a little challenging. I still decided to keep her funds to $500 and she had to work to buy or build anything more. Her house has the basics, a bed, a kitchen and 2 bathrooms. Other than that it is empty, I did not furnish it making it harder and more enjoyable as I went along.

I think I have rambled enough and not even sure if I explained anything at all. I figure as people move in and children are born, each will be assigned one of the challenges. From what I am seeing there are 28 subjects of skill challenges alone. I have not figured out yet if there will be more stuff each person or generation has to do. I do know no one will be able to get jobs. Money earned has to be from painting, sculpting, gardening, fishing ect. pretty much homemade things.

That is all I have for now. This could be a boring thing or something fun, I'll have to wait and find out. I do know I don't usually focus on these so it will be a new way of playing for me.
